Hello and welcome

I was born in Dar es Salaam Tanzania 1948 educated in UK. Studied drawing and illustration at Harrow School of Art. I painted pictorial pub signs for a living in Gloucestershire and now live in Dorset where I have rekindled my passion for printmaking using an Albion press and more recently experimenting with a baren for larger work on wood and other textured surfaces. I am particularly interested in using wood grain in my prints so I constantly look out for the right plank of wood or piece of ply for a particular project.

I often return to East Africa and most of my work includes images based on witnessed sightings of animals and landscape. The natural word has been a feature throughout my life…..recently I’ve been trying to dispense with too much detail and concentrating on impact and design.
